About Barcelona Ski Tours

A small private tour operator running day ski trips from Barcelona into the Pyrenees. Owner-operated. Nothing dressed up as more than it is.

What we do

We run private minivan day ski tours from your Barcelona hotel to three Pyrenean resorts: Masella and La Molina in Catalonia, and Grandvalira in Andorra. Pick-up early in the morning, drop-off in the early evening, with you on the lifts for five or six hours in between. One driver-guide per minivan, maximum six people in the group. No shared coaches, no shared itineraries, no fixed departure times — you tell us the day and the resort, we come and get you.

We also run a non-skiing scenic day tour across three countries (Spain, France, Andorra) and bespoke multi-day combinations on request.

Who we are

Barcelona Ski Tours started in 2016 as a dedicated winter branch of Swish Tours, a Barcelona-based private tour operator that has been running day trips in Catalonia since 2011. The founder, who still drives most of the ski tours in winter, grew up in the Cerdanya valley skiing Masella every weekend from the age of five. The idea for the ski tour service came from fielding too many requests from Swish Tours' summer and autumn city-tour customers who wanted to ski "somewhere near Barcelona" during their winter trips and couldn't find a straightforward private service that did it.

Everything we do is small-scale. We don't run coaches. We don't run package deals with hotels. We don't take commission on equipment rental or lift passes — you pay the resort directly for both, which is why those costs aren't in our price. We don't sell to third-party booking platforms; everything is direct through this website or by email.

Our fleet

Three Mercedes Vito minivans, each seating up to seven passengers with full ski kit. All vehicles are maintained to Spanish professional transport standards (VTC licensing), with winter tyres fitted from November through April and snow chains carried in the vehicle at all times during the ski season. The vans are not glamorous — they are working vehicles for a working business — but they are comfortable, safe and warm.

Our drivers

All drivers are experienced skiers themselves. All speak English and Spanish; two also speak French. All have Spanish professional VTC transport licenses and current medical fitness certification. All have been with us since at least 2019, so you aren't getting someone on their first week on the Pyrenees roads.

How we think about the service

This is a private service. That means you aren't on anyone else's schedule, you aren't in a van full of strangers, and you can set the pace of the day. If you want to ski from first lift to last, we are ready. If you want three hours of easy pistes and a long lunch, that's fine too. If you want to call it a day at two in the afternoon because conditions are rubbish, we're happy to drive you back and get you to a bar in Barcelona by five.

We are not the cheapest option. If you count the price per person for a solo skier, you'd be better off on the Rodalies train to La Molina. The private minivan is cost-efficient from two people upwards, and most of our customers travel as couples, friends-of-four or families.
