Terms and conditions

The small print for booking a day ski tour or scenic road trip with us. These terms apply to all bookings made through this website or by direct email. Current version: 2026-10.

1. The operator

"We", "us" and "Barcelona Ski Tours" refer to the sole trader operating under the trading name Barcelona Ski Tours, based in Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona Ski Tours operates as a brand of Swish Tours and holds the professional transport licences (VTC) required under Spanish law for the private-hire of passenger vehicles for day tours.

2. Bookings and payments

A booking is confirmed when we have received your deposit (30% of the tour price) and sent you a written confirmation by email. Until both of those steps are complete, no booking exists and no obligation on our part is created. The balance is payable in Euros on the day of the tour, in cash or by card. See the payments page for the full payment and refund schedule.

3. Cancellation

Cancellations more than seven days before the tour date receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations within seven days of the tour date forfeit the deposit, except in the case of cancellation by Barcelona Ski Tours (adverse weather, resort closure, operational problems) or by the client for documented medical reasons — in both cases the full deposit is refunded.

If the resort cancels its operation on the day (closed lifts, high winds, lightning risk) we will offer either a full refund of the deposit or free rescheduling of the tour to another day during your Barcelona stay, subject to availability.

4. The client's responsibilities

By booking a ski day tour the client confirms that:

  • They have skiing or snowboarding experience consistent with the resort's intermediate pistes (red runs). We do not accept beginner-level participants on our standard ski day tours.
  • They are in good enough physical condition to ski unsupervised at altitude.
  • They will bring their own ski clothing (jacket, salopettes, gloves, goggles).
  • They will respect the resort's safety instructions, piste markings, and ski-area rules at all times.
  • They have travel and winter-sports insurance, or accept that they are travelling and skiing at their own risk and expense.
  • They carry valid identification (passport or EU national identity card) when travelling to resorts outside Spain (Grandvalira in Andorra, or the Pyrenees road trip).

5. Our responsibilities

We are responsible for providing: a licensed and insured private minivan, an experienced driver-guide, help with equipment rental and lift pass purchase on arrival at the resort, pick-up and drop-off at the agreed Barcelona address, and operational decisions about the day (routing, timings, resort switch if conditions require it).

We are not responsible for the ski resort itself — including its lift operation, piste condition, piste signage, snowmaking, ski school, equipment rental shop, mountain restaurants or any other third-party service used during the tour. Each of those is operated by independent companies under their own terms. We select the resorts we visit because we think they are well-run, but we have no commercial relationship with them beyond buying lift passes and renting equipment at the standard public rates.

6. Liability

Skiing and snowboarding are activities with inherent risk of injury, including serious injury. By participating in one of our tours, the client acknowledges this risk and accepts personal responsibility for their own safety on the mountain. Our liability is limited to the direct provision of transport and tour services; we accept no liability for injuries, equipment failure, loss or damage to personal property, or any other consequence arising from the activity of skiing itself.

Our minivan is fully insured for passenger carriage under Spanish law. In the event of an incident during the transport portion of the tour (driving to or from the resort), standard Spanish passenger-transport liability rules apply.

7. Group size and group composition

Each private minivan carries up to six skiers plus the driver-guide. We reserve the right to decline bookings that would require combining unrelated parties in the same vehicle, as our service is explicitly private. For larger groups (7+), we operate multiple vehicles in parallel.

8. Changes by us

Occasionally we need to make changes to a booking — for example, changing resorts because of weather, changing the pick-up time by 30 minutes, or substituting a different vehicle. We will notify the client of material changes at least 12 hours before the tour where possible, and the client has the right to cancel for a full deposit refund if the changes are substantial.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute arising from a booking is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona.
